Cowboy Drifters is now hiring fly fishing guides.
Guides provide quality equipment (rods/reels, terminal tackle, flies), a fun attitude and a willingness to learn and teach others the art of fly fishing.
Job runs 12 months a year although it does vary between a busier and slower season cycle.
Primary Purpose Fly Fishing Guides are responsible for the setup and execution of fly fishing trips on various sections of the North Platte, including, but not limited to:
Miracle Mile, Grey Reef Reservoir, Grey Reef Dam through the town of Casper, WY, as well as the Bighorn River, Thermopolis, WY.
Guides may also be responsible for leading wade trips in Fremont Canyon or other sections of the North Platte River.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Catch fish and have fun! Safely executing guided drift/float and wade trips - primarily float trips.
Knowledge of effective fly fishing techniques based on season and changing river conditions.
Knowledge of seasonal entomology and the proper selection of flies based on time of year, hatches, and fishing conditions.
Rigging fly rods with appropriate terminal tackle and flies Ability to teach clients proper fly casting, line management and fishing technique on and off the water.
Recognize and verbally correct common casting and line management errors.
Ability to read water and adjust fishing techniques to changing river flows throughout the season.
Ability to effectively row and control a drift boat to create a proper drift for your clients.
Have reliable, clean transportation for clients.
Other tasks as assigned in the Fly Shop.
Experience/Requirements Fly fishing guiding experience preferred, not required.
WILL TRAIN the right candidate.
Valid, current Driver's License.
Previous work in similar capacity and environment preferred.
Provides tools of the trade:
Quality equipment:
rods/reels, terminal tackle, flies, Drift Boat preferred, NOT required at first Must be able to stand, sit, walk, row and move continuously for the duration of shift.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings CPR / First Aid Card.
Guide Insurance - available through Cowboy Drifters, if you do not have your own.

Casper/Alcova, WY - assistance with lodging available Schedule:
Peak Season full-time, Mid March through Mid November, with opportunities for Off-Peak Season, Part-Time - We are the only outfitter that runs 365 days a year.
Pay:
Competitive industry standard day rates based on experience, with room for increases based on performance, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
Plus tips.
Full-time, dedicated guides can gross in excess of $50K annually.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
