The Wyoming Department of Corrections is seeking a lead office support specialist to join the Field Services Division for the Casper Probation and Parole office.
This position is responsible for executive-level administrative work involving independent and delegated functions, thereby ensuring the Wyoming Department of Corrections' commitment to public safety.

Essential Functions:

Performs executive-level administrative and support duties.
Establishes work standards and procedures for support staff for maximum office efficiency.
Manages the day-to-day operations of assigned programs, projects, or functions between a variety of sources, as well as the office maintenance and inventory; may provide oversight of a regional office.
Acts as a resource to provide information or interpretation of agency-specific rules/regulations to staff, the public, or other government entities, and/or to determine the most effective way of meeting the needs of management, staff, clients, or customers.
Interprets and evaluates legal orders to ensure correct classification and supervision of adult felony and misdemeanor offenders.
Delegates work assignments; monitors/reviews quality of work; schedules staff; provides technical assistance and training of support staff.
Plans coordinates and facilitates meetings.
Review cases, applications, files, records, etc.
to determine the action to be taken.
Responsible for program integrity assurance.
Provides support staff feedback to district managers Develops/implements corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
Works closely with the District Attorney, District Court, and other State agencies.
Creates and edits reports & documents for management.
Manages schedules and timelines for managers.
Provides management and oversight of all office equipment and supplies.
Responsible for processing, maintenance, and quality control of records and documents.
Coordinates program functions between a variety of sources.
Performs other duties as assigned by District Manager, and Regional Manager.
Qualifications PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to those with at least two years of progressive work experience in business, and criminal justice exposure.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge and skills in customer service and the ability to work professionally with offenders and the public.
Knowledge of fiscal procedures and record keeping.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications.
Knowledge of records processing and maintenance procedures and systems.
Knowledge in the preparation of complicated documents, regulations, and policies related to the department.
Knowledge and understanding of the agency, and each respective division/program.
Knowledge of investigating alleged non-compliance.
Knowledge of State Law; departmental and federal confidentiality policies; MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Business)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Support Specialist I OR Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Support Specialist I Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.
Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
