POSITION
Summary:
This entry level position serves as an assistant to one or more Compressor Service Technicians either in a shop or field environment.
Assigned tasks will vary from manual to clerical depending on the immediate need of the partner technicians and will be closely supervised to ensure acceptable completion in a safe manner.
This position may drive a company vehicle on occasion but is not permanently assigned a vehicle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
may include any or all of the following.
Change filters, spark plugs, hoses, catalyst elements and perform minor maintenance of other compressor package components.
Assist Compressor Service Technicians with larger maintenance tasks by scraping gaskets, cleaning and painting parts, retrieving tools, barring over engines, etc.
Take unit readings and enter data, preparing service reports, timesheets and inspection reports as required to facilitate timely report submission.
Provide assistance with inventory control by maintaining accurate cycle counts.
Maintain organizational housekeeping and cleaning of compressors and facilities.
Assisting Compressor Service Technicians with other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENTS):
Some knowledge of machines, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of compression units.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude with willingness to learn new tasks.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proven ability to write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
Demonstrated ability to provide personal customer service and satisfaction.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Proven ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Proven ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction; take responsibility for own actions; keep commitments; complete tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education &
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
No previous experience required.
Computer skills:
Adequate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid Driver's License.
Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain one.
