43 an hour Job Brief Part-time office position Summary The GEAR-UP Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the GEAR UP staff, along with students and parents for the Casper College portion of the statewide consortium for the GEAR UP grant (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs).
Responsibilities The GEAR UP Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing assistance and logistical support to the GEAR UP staff by preparing statistical reports and data entry, handling information requests, and performing clerical duties for the GEAR UP grant at Casper College.
Additionally, the GEAR UP Administrative Assistant will collaborate with Casper College GEAR UP site staff, personnel from Natrona County School District and Casper College.
GEAR UP is intended to significantly increase the number of low-income Natrona County students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
The program focuses on students grades seven through twelve, their families and schools in the county.
It is intended that the program at Casper College serves a minimum of 280 students each year to achieve program objectives.
Essential Duties Maintains scheduled hours to provide a point of contact for students and parents; attends regularly scheduled meetings, trainings, and workshops.
Maintains student database, inputs student data for GEAR UP, runs reports, and analyzes data.
Assists with completion of yearly APR report.
Executes clerical responsibilities, including organizing, tracking and filing all student file folders; typing and word processing; answering and routing phone calls; photocopying; scanning and uploading documents.
Assists in financial record keeping and creation of monthly status reports, including recording and reporting grant match, financial records, invoices, mileage, and budget.
Work closely with and assist all GEAR UP staff members.
Assists in logistical coordination of student and parent activities.
Tracks supplies to be purchased and updates the shopping list.
Work Environment Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions.
Work is usually performed during the normal workday; however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required.
Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions.
Physical Demands Employee must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required.
Less frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required (office supplies, paper boxes, etc.
).
Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Proficiency in the use of Microsoft software including Word and Excel applications Strong attention to detail and capacity to remain organized while managing multiple projects Proven ability to maintain confidentiality Authorize and have a successful screening background check for any record of allegations of child abuse or neglect through Natrona County School District Central Services Desired Qualifications Associate degree Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Experience with at-risk youth Experience with databases Knowledge of post-secondary education and opportunities Note Employment contingent upon successful background check Official transcripts required upon hire This is a part-time, non-benefited.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
